First Day of Classes

I really like my 3D teacher. He's a nice older man who is helpful and says he won't give us too much homework. We did what he called "doodling" today, which involved playing with paper and an exacto knife to make random stuff. It was sort of weird but I enjoyed it. There are nice people in my class, too, which is awesome.

Today I also had English. My teacher seems really chill and sort of hippy-ish. We had to do some two page thesis essay thing on Plato's Republic Book VII. She said it's because they want an idea of our critical thinking skills upon entering school and leaving it. It won't be graded but was annoying to do. My paper pretty much sucks. Homework: Read the packet she gave us and respond. Much like creative writing last year, actually. It felt so much like high school, sitting there and writing essays.

Tomorrow I just have 4D, which will apparently rock. I've heard what we do in class and it sounds pretty damn fun. Then Bri is visiting! It's weird that now I have to arrange a time for my brother to visit. Before he'd just show up at the house and we'd do whatever. Now he needs to get a ticket and everything to get here. It's making this college thing more real, actually. It'll be fun, though. :-)

So, yes. That is my boring day. First day of Foundation. So far, so good.

Wow. Reading this makes me regret my decision not to apply to art school.

It's apparently going to get really, really crazy soon. And then I'll be regretting my decision not to go to liberal arts school.

Do people go out and drink every single night at Pratt? Because they certainly do here.

And practically everyone in my hall does.

Probably. I'm on the healthy choices floor so I don't really know what's going on in the partying world. It's an art school--we're known or being rebels.

lucky duck. I wish they had one of those here, though I heard that the bottom floor of south ben is healthy choice, or maybe even substance-free.
