May. 6th, 2004 03:22 pmSo, the New York trip was yesterday. It was rather fun. We were dropped off on the west side of Central Park and walked to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. A few of us roved around there while Flax, Louise and Sarah sat in the stairwell charging Flax's laptop. But those of us who checked the museum out and saw the armour and weapons. Very very nice. After that we were taken to Times Square and told to get to the theatre by a certain time, we had about an hour and ten minutes to ourselves. That's not much time. But a few people got to see Ana Kornicova (sp?). She was doing some add and while a some saw her like three girls actually met her. Of course, this is all hearsay. But that group of girls did get to see the "naked cowboy" who is not completely naked...pfft! False advertising!
The show, Raisin in the Sun, was pretty good. Having read the play in 7th grade I vaguely remembered what happened in it. The artist formally known as Puff Daddy (as I like to call him) was surprisingly not absolute crap. He had his moments of being really good but other than that it was just okay. At one point, when he was supposed to be all sad and apologising and whatnot but he was just on his knees "crying". As Jake says, he should have just stood up, apologised to the audience and done it again. But the woman who played Mrs. Huxtable from The Cosby Show played Lena, or Mama. She's amazing!!! And the little boy who played Travis was so cute! And he was really good. Unfortunately, during the second half all of us had mad ADD and couldn't pay attention to the play. Oh well...
Boy from Oz was playing right across the street and I asked the teacher if we could go to the back stage entrance for that so we could get Hugh Jackman's autograph but no, we did not have time. We would have possibly been able to if some stupid people did not go off to try to find Sean Combs. Stupid people. Because of them the teachers were looking for them and we had to wait for them when we could have possibly gone off to find Hugh who is way cooler.
All in all the trip was good.
Right now my head hurts so I'm gonna go relax and do some homework. Bye.
