arielarena: (give him a mask)
Back from Folk Fest! Actually, I was back last night and such but was too damn tired to post. Anyway, it was very fun!

I drove up there with Jason and didn't get lost! Yay for not getting lost! After going around the circuit four times (which took about 45 minutes alone) we parked and I met up with Bri to get my volunteer pass- despite that I was not, in fact, volunteering. I was prepared to pay daily admission but Bri ended up just taking me straight to the volunteer area and getting me a badge and wristband. As of then I was "Lynn Marantz"...is that how it was spelled? I mean, I only wore the badge for two entire days. Anyway, I was given her badge because she had not shown up. Various friends made fun of me because Lynn has at least three kids, one of which being older than me. I ended up earning the badge because I was put on the 7-10 PM(it was really till 9:30) dinner shift. Basically what I did was mark tick marks in the different commitees' categories when people entered the food place. It wasn't difficult and the people I was with made it fun.

As I had before my shift, after it I hung out with a bunch of people (mostly Avi, though, because she was my main connection to them). There was a bit of drama that took place but after splitting off that part I ran into my counselor from Galil last year, Seth. He was about to leave for Cape Town, South Africa so I got to say hello and then goodbye. When standing there these two guys came up to our group and asked this one kid, "hey, do you have any booze?" I looked at him and asked, "Sam?" Apparently, Sam came to Fest every year and I had just not seen him (which is completely possible as it is a huge place). He introduced us to his friend, Pat, who is awesome! They came along with Avi and me and eventually we met up with Dan (Sarah A's boyfriend). Basically we walked around and stopped to talk to tons of people. Avi got a lot of action. I caught up with old friends and made new ones. People got drunk, others were high and Danny Bonaduce made an appearance. No, I did not actually see him but Noah did (Danny was standing behind him in line so he asked, "Hey, isn't your name Dan?" not actually realizing who he was...I didn't remember who he was until I looked up the name on IMDB just now- think "The Patridge Family").

This fest was Da Vinci's Notebook's last show together. Paul and Storm are going off to do their own act. Bernie and Richard are doing their own thing...I don't know what. This makes me sad. I love their funny accapella music and crazy antics. No more shows at The Point. *tear* But they did a wonderful last show and I am very glad to have been present while it happened. I didn't see it but did hear it. We went to actually watch when they sang "Another Irish Drinking Song". Either way, it's sad.

I bought tons of CDs, on the bright side. Not of DVN but I now have both Full Frontal Folk CDs and Girlyman. Okay, so that's not "tons of CDs" but it is three. That's a lot for me to splurg on.

So, that's basically it minus the incriminating stuff. I mean...*shifty eyes*.

ETA: When I say that Danny Bonaduce made an appearance I just meant that he was at Fest. He didn't publicize it or anything...people just saw him and spread the rumour. The only reason I know that it was true is because Noah saw him and someone else did, too. Just clearing that up.
