Lamentations
Feb. 1st, 2005 10:12 pmThe world is changing. This I understand and have accepted. But I refuse to accept one thing. I don't know why the world is like this. The one thing I want, I can't get. And it's no one's fault- it just doesn't seem to be avalaible.
In New York we went to many restaurants and no one had any. I was saddened. Bri wanted the same thing...alas.
Today at lunch I mentioned my realization to Ben...
Me: Have you ever realized how difficult it is to find a normal piece of chocolate cake?
Ben: You are probably the only person who would notice that.
I don't ask for world peace or anything overly idealistic. I only ask for the happiness confined in a piece of regular chocolate cake. None of that mousse filler- I just want the cake and icing. Simple and yummy. Some day I shall find it. Some day.
