Gotta love playing the role of fangirl for a little known Argentinian singer who has the job of "teaching Spanish through song and that being addicted to bad stuff is...well, bad". That man is Justo Lamas (pronounced Hoo-sto). Our school was the second to last stop on his last tour. He has a record deal...finally.
This concert, of course, was ONLY for the Spanish classes. Being an idiot, I'd switched to Latin from Spanish and was therefore not eligible to go. Luckily, the "bouncer" was my friend and so was the person in charge of getting Justo and his wife what they needed when they needed it. Cara, the latter, snuck two friends and myself backstage to watch from the side third period. After a few minutes of the song (and having Justo look over a few times with that "Why are there people in that corner?" look on his face) I had to go to class. After that class, however, I went back. This time tons of people had infiltrated the concert and I got in quickly and had a good view of the stage. Justo is so funny! He isn't amazingly talented, nor is he that attractive. His hair is very long and blond...I wanted to braid it. He's a wannabe popstar but he hasn't gotten there yet. It was quite cute, really.
Some girls made shirts that said stuff like, "I love you!" on them (but in Spanish...). There were a few signs. He spoke in English but some in Spanish. One song was about who would pay the check in the cafe. Crap lyrics.
Cara got a water bottle (thathedrankfromomg!) signed for Players. It shall have its own shrine...the board has decreed it.
Justo is the most exciting thing to happen to our school (that has been a positive developement, that is). Which is rather a sad statement to make.
