Aug. 10th, 2005 01:38 pmAfter reading and rereading Valiant by Holly Black, the poem she uses at one point kept nagging at me. I had learned it when I was little and at Schechter we'd go around reciting it nonstop. In the book she had (or something to this effect):
"One bright day in the middle of the night/ Two dead boys got up to fight
Back to back they faced each other/ Drew their swords and shot each other/ A deaf policeman heard the noise/ Came and shot the two dead boys"
For some reason I knew that there was another part to this really weird poem. I think it's: "If you don't believe my lie is true/ Ask the blind man, he saw it, too".
In conclusion: Mystery solved.
Other than that, I'm currently baking up stuff for my girls-only (sorry Carter) tea time. We're going to prentend to be ladies!
