Orientation: Days 5 and 6
Aug. 24th, 2006 11:44 pm"The Wedding Singer" was awesome! I loved the costumes and lights! The songs were fun, too! Plus, Stephen Freaking Lynch was Robbie Hart. He was great!
After the show a bunch of us decided to explore and went to PAX, this rather expensive Whole Foods shop that Courtney wanted to go to. It was nice but I didn't get anything. Courtney and Sara, the girls I'd been sitting at the show with, left early so I stayed and hung out with Michelle and Max. They're really fun people. Michelle is a Broadway fan in addition to being a geek about many of the same shows I love. We met two of Max's friends. One was a musical theatre major, is a huge Stargate fan and is completely awesome! The other girl was very nice, too, and hilarious!
We walked past all of these people telling us to worship Jesus and that Rapture was coming. To one of the dudes I said, "Sorry, Jewish". He replied, "Are you sure?" to which Michelle said, "Yes" emphatically. Sounds sort of stupid now but it was very funny at the time. He later was going on about abstinence and whatnot and said to us "Make the right decision, young ladies!" Crazy man! So much fun to fuck with the Jesus Crazy people. Or any of the Crazy Religious people.
We got back in time to watch "Serenity" with Laura and Bethany. We got a whole bunch of people walking by to stop and watch with us. It's fun to do that. You meet new people and they have similar interests.
Today I went into the city again, this time with Bethany, Laura and Bethany's mom. We did the tourist thing and went to Central Park, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and SoHo. It was very nice but extremely tiring. I enjoyed just hanging around and exploring NYC. I wanted to meet up with my cousin but our schedules didn't work together and we ended up leaving before we could meet. Hopefully next time it will work out.
Right now I'm just chilling. It's been a tiring few days and tomorrow is the day I don't really have too much to do.
Classes start Monday. My first day will consist of a 3D studio class (6 hrs, lunch break in between each 3 hr period) and English (50 min). It sounds good, but busy. I'm just eager to start but scared shitless that the work load will be too much. I'm not good with crazy amounts of pressure. I just want to know what to expect. Other than the strong desire to kill someone. Which is what I've heard I'll have. Argh! Anticipation is the worst.
