The V-Day theme LJ has going on makes me want to punch someone. It's just so...pink. And ugly pink, at that.

So...I've decided I'm finally willing to go on a Birthright trip to Israel. Birthright is a free ten day trip to Israel for young jews. The idea behind the program is that every jewish teen should go to Israel and get more in touch with their jewish roots. Previously I have had no interest in going to Israel. The fact that this program is through my school is a huge draw. It will probably be more laid back and the Rabbi who works here is really cool. From what I've heard, he's coming with us. And my friend Jocelyn is totally into this whole trip. I think her enthusiasm is rubbing off on me. I'm actually kind of excited.

I'll be in another country sans-parents. I don't think I've ever done that before. Another state, yes. Country? Not so much. And maybe I can do a detour to London on the way back. And by "maybe" I mean I'm totally doing it. I've been looking up information on youth hostels in London and they're reasonably priced. Some are gorgeous! If anyone on my flist has more information about London hostels, please do share! If I could get a job in England for the Summer that would also be amazing. Probably wouldn't happen but you never know.

Now all I need to do is get through the rest of the year. And sign up for the trip. But getting through Pratt is probably first on that list. It's intense. The lack of breaks this semester makes it even more so. We get one week off for Spring Break. That's not much at all. Of course that means we get out of school before most people. We also start before most so I'm not sure if that's a fair trade-off. Meh.

...I need to get me some oil paints.
