Jun. 13th, 2008 03:03 pmWhile stopping at Borders briefly, I decided to attempt reading a part of Twilight. Reasons I knew I wouldn't like it much automatically: It's written in first person. I tend to hate books written in first person. You need to be fucking amazing at writing if you're going to pull that off. Think Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk. Now THAT is an example of how to do it. Plus, the main character isn't almost immediately unlikeable. Which brings us back to Twilight. I only read up to when her Dad gets her a car and I already don't like her very much.
( Spoilers for the first few pages because that's all I bothered to read before closing the book and walking away )
So probably not going to read that book unless someone has it on their computer and wants to send it to me so I don't have to actually pay for it.
