Went to Chabad for dinner last night. Very nice people who made an effort to speak in English. It was hard to follow their conversations overall as the languages switched between three (English, Hebrew and Italian) and I only properly understand one. Mum, however, could follow both English and Hebrew. Fell asleep at the table multiple times as my body is still not completely adapted to Italy time. One of the men who goes to Chabad dinners is a graphic designer-- already offered services for free. He apparently has spoken at Pratt at that Industrial Design department because that's what he was before going graphic. Mum and I will be going to this Chabad next Friday, too.
Checked out one apartment, decided no on it as it's really small, rather out of the way and costs way too much for half-a-room I'd be getting. The girl who offered me the room went to Pratt for a semester, turns out she lived across the hall sophomore year. Knew she looked familiar. Hope to at least stay in touch with her. Have two more to look at today, however I cannot reach one of the dude's. Think that we got his cell number wrong. Do have his address and will probably go check out the neighborhood and pray that someone is home. That place is two blocks away from the school.
Chabad family has implied that I could potentially stay with them if necessary. They are so nice! I really need to improve my Italian and Hebrew if I want to hang with them, though. Starting the former on Monday. Am in class 1B, not quite beginner but not ready for level 2. Figured as much.
Am feeling particularly lazy today. Don't want to think about shittons of paperwork that need to be done. Why oh why did they never mention all of this at the meetings?
