Waking up at 7:30 AM shouldn't be a treat. It should still be considered early. In my case, however, this was sleeping in. I didn't have a first period class...well, third period seeing as that was the way the schedule worked out today (3rd, 4th, 8th, 7th).

My first and only real class was history. We talked about the Korean war. Apparently it was "forgotten". It seems to me that we're just having the same war over and over again with a few different players. A war of ideologies that cannot coexist for some weird reason, that is. The student teacher envoked one thing most, if not all of us, would have heard: "Never start a landwar in Asia". *loves The Princess Bride* It's so true...

The next class was English. We watched "Bat21," which is about the Vietnam war. This is mainly because we will begin reading The Things They Carried. Good way to spend a lazy day.

Next was a free. I hung out in the lobby with Angela, wondering where everyone had gone (they had gone home early) and saying that I'd really wanted to stop by Borders. We ended up going to the third floor to find Carter who was allegedly going to Borders later that day. The three of us left and went to the shopping center where the store is but stopped for some lunch first. Then Borders. Much time was spent in the DVD section as Angela and I are essentially DVD h0rs. I couldn't find the Neil Gaiman books I was looking for much to my annoyance. I did, however, buy "Snatch" and Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk. We met up with Dorie there and went to her house.

At Dorie's we watched "Young Frankenstein" because Carter had never seen it, the uncultured heathen. Then she showed us her beautiful prom dress. It's really, really cool and metallicy looking but in a good way. The shoes and bag are cool, too. From there we walked to Carters to drop some stuff off and hitched a ride to Angela's with his mother.

Angela's house is beautiful. Her father is a designer (I'm not sure what type exaclty) and has rennovated the house beautifully. The kitchen is lovely as well as amazingly functional. Each room has specific things about it that make it unique yet go with the rest of the house. It's bright and happy. Her room is nice, too. She has books all over the floor, which was tons of fun 'cause a lot of them were romance novels (she has an addiction to them despite hating most romantic things) that we read out of dramatically. After searching for some food we went back into the room and watched a part of "Definite Article". Gotta love Eddie Izzard. He's becoming more famous now that he's had his act aired on HBO. Such a cool guy.

Then Mum came and ruined our fun by picking me up and I went to dinner with the family.

Dinner was okay. I wanted cake so I didn't eat much (I'd been pigging out on goldfish crakers at Angela's) and then the cake turned out to be moldy. Mum subtly told the waitress 'cause my granmother would have reacted extremely rudely if she had known. Instead I was critisized for not eating much. Oh well.

Today was a good day.

[...] and I went to dinner with the family.

How about, "I went to dinner with the family because my brother, Jeff - whom I love very dearly - is leaving for Washington, DC tomorrow"? Isn't that a bit more descriptive?

"the uncultured heathen"

I resent that. I am very cultured...just more like the way you have cultured bacteria than apreciation of fine art.

Twas a joke. You are not a heathen...just not cultured when it comes to Mel Brooks. I shall never get over the shock of you confusing him with Mel Gibson. That is a sin that for which there is no repentence.
