Orientation: Days 3 and 4

These past two days have been a blur. It mainly consisted of listening to boring speaches and trips to Target. Target is in the Fulton Mall, which is maybe a thirty minute walk away from campus. Because we're now pedestrians (and damn proud of it) we didn't buy much. I got some computer speakers so the next time we do a movie on Adri's Computer the insanely loud air conditioning won't make the dialogue incomprehensible even when set at its loudest. Those, and hangers.
I found out yesterday that one of the guys in my dorm has LOST season 1! They were watching it in the lounge when Bethany, Laura and I wanted to watch The Daily Show/Colbert Report. Instead I went to Laura's dorm because her roommate is really nice and didn't care if we watched it while she slept (we used head phones so she wouldn't wake up because of the sound). But still, how cool is that? I'm hoping that we'll have a LOST Wednesday where we all get together in the lounge and just watch it. It'll be a work-break. I think it would be fun. Once I find LOST!guy again I'll suggest it to him.
Today I'm going to see "The Wedding Singer" in Manhattan. Surprisngly enough, I haven't been in to "The City" yet. I've been sticking to local Brooklyn and sort of exploring. I know where enough things are now that I think I'll be okay. But today is NYC. Ditto with tomorrow, I think. Except we're just going to do the tourist thing as a group of friends, not with the school. Here's hoping we don't get too lost.
My suitemate Claire and I are still roommateless. I sort of like it. I hung out in her room for a few hours last night and we just talked about random stuff until 2 AM (when I realized that I really should go to bed). It was fun. I like that we have this extra space. But when they get here I hope we all get along. I think we will. Maybe our roommates will mainly hang out in other dorms. Who knows?
Laura drew pictures of Annie and Me on the dry erase board outside my room. Annie, the unknown roommate, is a pirate ninja with a question mark on her face. I am me. Me anime style. It's very cute. If I had a camera I'd take a picture and post it but alas I am digital camera-less, as well.
My air conditioning makes really weird noises. I'll get used to it.

Date: 2006-08-25 03:42 am (UTC)I would go again if you wanted to go! Really! But Avenue Q is fantabulous, too! Ah, so much to choose from and so little time. And money. I still need to find out where to get cheap tickets (other than the cheap ticket booth in the middle of Time Square).
