Back at Pratt. I did pretty much no homework over break, which I knew would happen despite hoping I could accomplish shit. So now I'm chillin' on my bed (which is WAY more comfy than my bed at home, surprisingly) and not doing work. It's like a normal Sunday.
The entire family seemed to stop by these past few days. Grandma from Toronto was here with my cousin Daniel and another cousin came to visit her for a day. We had Uncle Eliel and Leo at Thanksgiving dinner, which Jeff (brother), Dan and I left early. We went over to the Strong's (family friends) for a quick visit before heading over to see Beowulf in 3D IMAX. While enjoying the experience, I had a horrible headache afterwards from the 3D glasses and couldn't help but feel annoyed that my British Literature teacher had not told us the full story of Beowulf when we were studying it. She said that he had killed Grendel and his mother...not that he had actually made a deal with Grendel's Mum and then proceeded to sex her up. Still, it was a pretty good movie action-wise. A little too much plot thrown in, I think. Interesting idea rendering everyone in 3D. I kind of want to see it just as the live-action, though.
Next day we woke up early to have breakfast with Grandma. Dan, Jeff and I went to lunch at Morimoto's, which is a crazy fancy Japanese Fusion restaurant, and it was pretty awesome. After that, Jeff dropped us off at the art museum where Dan and I tried to see the Renoir exhibit. Sadly, the next showing was at 4:30 and Mum was picking us up at 4. What ended up happening is Dan and I checked out the other galleries and when 4 rolled around, Mum picked me up and Dan stayed at the museum for the exhibit. That night I went to see Enchanted with friends and hung out afterwards. Hilariously cheesy movie. If you grew up with Disney, definitely see it. It was extremely enjoyable.
Saturday involved having even more family over. Cousins from New York came down to see us and Grandma and family friends came by, too. Dan and I got the desserts and visited Borders briefly before coming back to the house for more family time. I was hoping to see friends again but was so exhausted by the time everyone left that I just ended up chilling at home. Still extremely tired.
This break seemed to go by so quickly. It barely felt like a break, too. I was doing stuff constantly. Helping Mum out, helping Grandma out, entertaining people, seeing people, trying to do homework, etc. I need more time. And now I have three weeks left of this semester. Hopefully enough time to finish everything that needs to be done in time for Survey. Oh God. Survey. So not ready for this.
