Anyone know of a way I can get a digital copy of The Watchmen so I can read it on my laptop? I don't mean torrents, I'm talking a legal copy. Your info is, as always, appreciated.
I was thinking legal-legal. If there's no way to get a legitimate electronic copy of Watchmen then I'll do torrents and whatnot. I think I actually want to give over money for this since I hear it's so amazing.
I'm gonna go ahead and suggest you get a legit, physical copy for this particular book. I mean, if it's possible, obviously. There are a lot of long essay-like parts that might get a little tedious to read on a screen. Seriously, it's like homework.
As far as I know, there aren't any legal versions online. HOWEVER, I do know of some non-torrent-y ways to get scans. You could always read now and buy a copy later to show Alan Moore some lovin'. It's not a bad thing to have on your shelf.
Alan Moore's lovin' would be a great conversational piece, though. :-)
I'm going to check a few bookstores here and pray that the English section has it. I can't find Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book anywhere (well, anywhere I've checked but I've checked a few major bookstores that SHOULD have it but don't and I'm so close to twittering [tweeting? I don't know the lingo yet] Gaiman and asking him why the hell I can't find his book in Milan in English). I may do the read now, buy later if The Watchmen still proves elusive.
It's arguably legal (or, at least, the legality hasn't yet been decided in court as far as I know) to get a torrent of something you already have legally. So buy the book, and then download.

The book, I mean. Not Alan Moore's lovin'.
